The only way to judge me on my performance in the past year is by what have I achieved in my first twelve months in council:

1)      I’ve managed to get two tenants removed from their council houses and one re-housed due to anti social behaviour.

2)      I’ve managed to find a compromised solution in the planning application for the Smellies relocation to Whiteshawgate, at least going some way to protecting one of Strathaven’s largest employers and at the same time, removing an obstacle of lane access next to the Golfview and Meadowisde housing developments.

3)      By continuing to work with the roads department and my colleagues in council, I have not only started to see improvements in Strathaven’s roads today but we’ll see a continuous improvement over the coming years.

4)      I’ve always hated the fact that if you work hard and build up a fund fro your retirement, then you ending paying more later while those do nothing, get it for free. I managed to help one Stonehouse couple by working with the council to improve their lives and at no extra cost.

5)      By working with the community and therefore the community councils, I’m starting to see some progress towards improvements.
